Four years ago, a bunch of cavers from Nottingham got the fright of their lives when they came face to face with a human skull, sealed in the wall of that cave.

But that was just the beginning, dozens of other human bones were discovered from at least twenty different people making this one of the largest collections of human bones ever found in a cave in this country.

And when they were radio carbon dated, some of them were found to be Stone Age nearly 5000 years old. But the story gets even more intriguing, at least seven of the humans were new born babies.

And there were artefacts too, this bone pin, and this strange worked antler, and there was a sash of Roman coins here too. How do they all fit together, what was going on here? Solving this prehistoric puzzle is gonna take a lot of pretty extreme archaeology.
