Soibugh - the biggest village in district Budgam. This is one of those loveliest places that would remain so close to my heart. It’s my home and now a place where I spend my vacations very often. This place has many credits to it and is famous for many reasons. The massive Chinar trees in the central Soibugh and the abundant cultivation land around it gives Soibugh the perfect picturesque look. Located at just half an hour drive (towards north-western side) from Srinagar City, this place is situated on the banks of world famous Lake HOKERSOR – which used to be home to worlds most popular migratory birds during summer.
Soibugh is home to many revolutionaries. The famous personalities of the area are, Peer Haqani Sahab- The famous spiritual leader of his times, Qadir Lala- The Famous Kashmiri Poet, Moulvi Alla-u-Din-Sahab – The great Muslim Scholar and Teacher, Moulvi Nisar Sahab – One of the Greatest intellectuals of this era, a great philosopher, thinker, poet and writer.
Albeit being so near to the capital Soibugh hadn’t had its share of amenities and resources, for many reasons. Few years back people had to walk miles to fetch drinking water. Power, telephone services and other basic facilities of life have improved over the years now, thanks to the local Social Workers like Hafizullah Mir – Ex Magistrate, Ab Rahim Malik – My father  , Gh Rasool Malik, Syed Firdos and many others.

    It drew me in great bewilderedment to see my native village added on Wikimapia.Malik has defined my village in the best way,the only thing i would like to add iz this place iz the spring of freedom struggle,this place has always given blood,imprisionment & capital to the freedom struggle of kashmir.In the history of freedom struggle this village has got same importance as Sopore in Baramulla & Shopian in Pulwama. This land is very fertile for intellectuals & deligent youth.I salute the diginity & highness of this village & i suggest my elders & advice my youth irrespective of the sect u belong to,to work wholeheartedly for the good of village.Inshallah i am planning to bring some UNDP & world bank projects into the village for the upliftment & visions in the new horizon.     I realy agree your comments but i want to add some more to this.soibugh budgam consists of nearly 3000 homes(families).it is one of the most famous valuable village not only in budgam but in the whole kashmir.this village is famous in the human behavior. the person who see's it before 20 years and comes to see this village after 20 years finds that there is no change this is only due to goverment writer .Ab Rahman Bhat desig . software engineer R/o .     i want to add some more information,my contention is that soibugh has also contributed to the educational field has produced shining stars to the valley and has also some great personalties including Mr.Haroon sahb , Hafeezullh mir sahb ,Quyoom sahb ,Abdul Raheem sahb ,Mohi ud din sahb and others also which i not include here needs so much time and type writing masters to write it down here. The village is also disseminating the islamic awreness among the people in the form of opening Darsgahs,Baitulmals ,islamia school etc.

    I want to add some thing that other one great personaliTy Dr fayaz malik who has taken young scientist award.In our village there are 30 Mosques and two higher secondarys ,three higher schools,two middle schools and eight primarily schools.

    Yes, i also agree with u guys. There is no doubt regarding the features of it, like edu, hosplty, intellectuals, islamic scholars, freedom fighters, & much more.,.... But the govt. Upto the date has dn nothing for the devlopmnt of this beatiful vill.

    Hello everyone! I'm not satisfied with those who told that villages are our strength. I think we can't totally say that the villages are our strength as we take example of America, tell me what things are running in your mind to listen this word America. What a country. What are the peoples. Their high standard, this place is very clean, their buildings. Now think about Indian. What you catch. In my opinion villages are our strength I agree but we have to do a lot that changes the map of India because most of the population of India live in villages and we have to make the villagers literal, educated and most important that in villages we have to set up factories that help to them so they can't move to cities. Like any other country we also establish the earning mode in villages so that the people of villages reside there and they do their earning.
