Fort São Sebastião was built in 1575 and is ow the São Tomé National Museum. It is a really beautiful example of a well preserved 16th century Portuguese colonial fort. The real thing to see is the fort itself but the Museum does have some interesting history of Sao Tome such as old family photos, information about slavery, the way of life in the cocoa and coffee plantations etc.
