Rogers Airport (site) (Los Angeles, California)

USA / California / West Hollywood / Los Angeles, California
airport, interesting place, historical layer / disappeared object

Rogers Airport, operated by Rogers Aircraft, Inc., opened in 1918 (as Charles Chaplin's Chaplin Airdrome) at the northwest corner of Wilshire Boulevard & Crescent Avenue (now Fairfax Avenue).

It had a single 1,800' east/west dirt runway, being 3,681' x 1,500' in size.
Rogers Airport was evidently closed (for reasons unknown) at some point between 1932-40, as it was no longer depicted on a 1940 LA street map or the 1941 LA Sectional Chart.
