Siska (Cisco) - Double crossing of the Fraser

Canada / British Columbia / Lillooet /
 railway, bridge, draw only border

This locale features two railway bridges crossing the Fraser Canyon.

The CPR line was built first and chose the easier route. Later, when the CNR line was built, it was impossible to squeeze in two rail lines on the same side of the canyon, so the CNR had to build on the opposite side from wherever the CPR already was, including bridging the river at this location.

The CPR bridge is the southern (downstream) crossing, and the CNR is on the northern (upstream) bridge.
