Eden Gardens is the oldest cricket ground in India and is also considered one of the finest in the world. The Eden Gardens Cricket Club came in existence some time in the year 1864. It has been called the Lord's of Asia.The stadium is the one of the largest cricketing facilities in the world, along with the MCG.
This Stadium has a capacity of 120,000 people.

but CAB & BCCI must do something to keep this great ground to be world class, the seating arrangements must be better, so is the sanitation & water supply part & above all the drainage facility of the ground, a sharp shower for 30 mins can bring doomsday to the ground as it will be transformed from a world class ground to a big lake, a better giant screen is must, plz CAB & BCCI, do something |

The Eden Gardens, Kolkata was the best in the world during the regime of Mr. Jagmohan Dalmia. It is now slowly down graded and losing its previous pride. I wish Mr. Dalmia once again comes back to power and restore the lost esteem & pride. |

Please refer to my earlier comments (2 months ago) when I wished that Mr. Dalmiya should come back to power again and restore the glory of Eden. My desire has come true and he has returned with a wide margin. I now hope that with his able administration and motivating power, Bengal will again be back to Elite group in domestic cricket. I also wish that Mr. Dalmiya becomes BCCI President again in near future. |
