Kareli is a Municipality city in district of Narsimhapur, Madhya Pradesh.
The Kareli Municipality has population of 29,929 as per report released by Census India 2011.
This old town situated near junction of two National Highways is a famous grainmarket - pulses, soya, and jaggery being main commodities.
Kareli came into brief prominence after construction of a railway Station (GIPR 1850-1900), for linking Sagar (earstwhile Saugore).Soon after that, and owing to advent of Bina-Katni rail route, Sagar Railway Sation came into existence. Thereafter Kareli's importance as a center of business-hub diminished .Even then adjoining areas of Sagar district consider it more suitable. Present Market Leader in verious sector are-

  • I agree with above comments.One of the Galla(Grains) Mandi centrally located in the state.Exports most of Arhar Dal,Grams,Masur,and Gud.This place needs to be shown clearly focussed by Wikimapia,Google Earth for the benefit of visiters.

It is very densely poulated agricultural area.The Town Kareli is world famous for all Pulses, Oilseeds, Soya,Sugar Cane and allied food grain products. The town is sorroundes by the smaller populated towns ranging 3 to 15 Kms from it, which are agricultural sources
