This very ancient fort is related with mythological king ROHITASHWA.Rohitashwa,the son of Satyawadi Harischandra,was the king of Kashi in the rig vedic period.He built this fort and controlled the asura i.e.non-Aryan clan.During course of time this fort was abandoned and destroyed.During medieval period Delhi's Sultan's men rennovated this and used as a strategic fort.In the 16th century Sher Shah captured this.After this all Delhi's ruler used this.
In 1857 revolters also took shelter in this fort.
In near about 100 years this fort was abonned.Now these days it's care taker is ASI .But she is pseudo care taker.
