Krogers Stores announced in early 2006 of plans to construct a new store at the southwest corner of this field, which is commonly known as Tract D. The new Kroger would anchor a larger development that would eventually fill the Tract D property. Groups of local citizens have since petitioned to delay construction until a design overlay zone can be created to govern construction.
