In 1995, the town's two hospitals amalgamated to form the current West Parry Sound Health Centre (WPSHC). Four years later, Hospital Services in Parry Sound celebrated its centennial year.

The amalgamated health centre continues the long tradition of providing quality care and leadership established by both the Parry Sound District General Hospital and the Parry Sound Area Health Centre, Chronic Care Facility (formerly St. Joseph's Hospital, Parry Sound).

The $80-million state-of-the-art West Parry Sound Health Centre opened to the public in April 2005.
