Ben Taub General Hospital is a hospital located within the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. Opened in May 1963, the hospital is owned and operated by the Harris County Hospital District and is staffed by faculty and students from the Baylor College of Medicine.

Ben Taub is designated as a Level I trauma center, one of only two in southeast Texas; at 650 licensed beds, it is one of the busiest trauma centers in the United States, caring for over 108,000 emergency patients each year. Ben Taub also has the distinction of being the only hospital in Houston with a 24-hour psychiatric emergency room.

The hospital is named in honor of Ben Taub (1889-1982), a real estate developer and businessman whose extensive behind-the-scenes philanthropic efforts helped transform Houston.
