In 1905 Standard Paint and Varnish opened a large factory on this site to produce house paints, varnishes, stains and industrial coatings. After a fire destroyed the plant in 1953 it was rebuilt and reopened as Rinshed Mason Co. In 1968 following a merger with Interchemical Corp. the plant operated under the Inmont name.

In 1977 the plant was converted to produce automotive coatings only. BASF Group of Ludwigshafen Germany purchased Inmont in 1985 and with it the Windsor operation.

Currently 120 employees work at the 375,000 sq. ft. plant producing basecoats, primers and automotive component coatings. In particular the plant makes waterborne coatings low in Volatile Organic Compound (VOC).
