Blue Bird Lake is close to Hisar Airport on National Highway 10 (NH10) in the town of Hisar, in the Hisar district of Haryana State, India. The Blue Bird lake is also close to Deer Park, Hisar and Shatavar Vatika Herbal Park, Hisar, both of which are run by the Forests Department, Haryana of Government of Haryana.

In the winters there are many migratory birds, some of the species are endangered.

3.1 Lake & Migratory Birds[edit source]

The lake and surrounding wetland and parks are spread across 52 acre area. The water body of lake itself is 20 acres and has small islands inside the lake to provide safe nesting ecosystem for the migratory birds and other flora and fauna. Lake has boating facilities, in-lake floating pontoon platforms for visitors & boaters, Ghats for sitting and relaxing, eco wetland for the birds and insects. The lake is visited by the migratory birds during the winter, many of which are endangered species. Entry to lake is free.

The lake has boating facilities for hire with safety gear such as life saving flotation jackets and devices.

3.3 Fishing[edit source]

The lake has boating facilities for hire with safety gear such as life saving flotation jackets and devices. Fishing is permissible after paying a licensing fee of INR200 per angler which also includes cost of rental of fishing rods, bring your own baits. Contact the booking desk at Haryana Tourism's resort for paying the fee and collecting the fishing rods.

3.4 Picnic Parks & Play area[edit source]

Lake also has landscaped parks, sight-seeing walking trails and jogging tracks, over-water bridges, bush land, children's swings and play area, visitor's car park and toilets, etc. It is a romantic place for couples, relaxing and engaging for families, school tours and group of friends, etc. There is no entry fee to use these areas.

3.5 Holiday Resort[edit source]

Haryana Tourism's has tourist resort (Phone: +91-(01662)- 275568 & 275131) with 14 air conditioned rooms, licensed bar & restaurant, function room, etc for hire. It is popular among families and business travelers alike.

3.6 Convention & Function Center[edit source]

There is a Haryana Tourism's Convention center (Phone: +91-(01662)- 275568 & 275131) for hire for weddings, Conventions, Meetings, incentives, conferencing, exhibitions (MICE), corporate and private functions, etc.
