  • 'bugyal', in Garhwali-language, are the best scenes,... Natural!!!!! Even the Swisterlands will be leaving, for the Garhwal! I must explain; the 'Bugyals';.. sometimes.
  • bugyals are indeed very beautiful.
  • Bugyal means lush green grassy meadows of the Himalayn Region and are much desired places for the wild sheep ( barars )and sheep herds of Gaddis to feed on and also most beautiful place for tourists to enjoy. From the press reporting (photo above) it seems The Butter Festival is celebrated in Dayar Bugyal here. More details about this are welcome.I have personally seen the Fullal Dhar Bugyal about 5 km up along Jalundhari Gad from Harsil in June/ july 1962.B.S.Rawat Katakholi, Garhwal (01346 254066 and 0522 2362034).
