Comments

  • Eastern Central Serbia (Timočka Krajina) is home to a large Romanian / Vlach minority which is subjected to an intense process of Serbianisation.
  • Most Wallachians (Vlachs) in Eastern Serbia -- who speak an Eastern Romance language dialect with even more Slavonic words than standard Romanian (which itself has 40% Slavonic words) -- do not consider themselves Romanians by any stretch of imagination and indeed reject that idea very vehemently, claiming that they are much closer to Tsintsars (Aromuns) from Macedonia and Epirus.
