Two Stockmen’s Day's bookmark the construction of the Animal Science Building; in a ceremony marking the start of construction in 1958 and the following year with the official opening on June 13, 1960. Designed by Stock and Ramsay of Regina and costing $482,000, the red-brick structure had a one-storey and two-storey wing. The new building allowed the faculty to move from office and laboratory space from University’s Main Barn. Because its location immediately west of the Barn, one of the two access ramps leading to the loft was removed.
