Jogeveste was deployment base for 50th. Missile Army, 23rd. Division, 94th. Missile regiment. Headquarters of the division was in Valga, Estonia. The base was closed in 1981.

This base (and the corresponding base 5 km to the north) was deployment base for R-12 (SS-4 Sandal) IRBM, with a range of approximately 2000 km.
