Hanuman Garhi is a very important temple in the City of Ayodhya. It is located in the center of the city. The temple is entered by a flight of 76 steps. Lord Hanuman lived here in a cave in order to guard and defend the Ramkot (Sri Ram Janmabhumi). The present temple was built in the middle of 10th century. The temple contains a very important shrine to Lord Hanuman. The temple has the form of a large four-sided fort-like structure with circular bastions at each corner.
