Brixton is an area of the South London and the admin centre of the London Borough of Lambeth. Developed during the Victorian era, it is a busy and diverse centre with many shops and housing served by the London Underground, but at the same time does suffer from some crime and a bad reputation. Despite this, many famous people have come from here and it was one of the first Inner-City areas to join the 'Transition Towns' project.
