Transmitter and towers for KFBK-AM (1530 KHz, 50 KW).

This station uses two towers for a directional pattern, maximizing the power to both north and south ends of California Central Valley while minimizing (especially at night) the noise towards the Cincinnati area, where another station uses the same frequency. Each tower has two insulated half-wave sections configured as a "Franklin antenna", maximizing the ground wave and minimizing the sky wave.

The outline shows the location of guy wires outside the fenced area.

The towers were built in 1948. Some time in the 1960's, a small plane collided with the east tower, causing it to collapse. It was rebuilt, but some remains of the old tower are still visible.

The outline indicates the outer boundary of the entire facility, including the fenced-off technical area and the guy wires that support the masts.
