In the Soviet era used to be a great place for leisure activities with a nice sandy beach and lots of amateur fishermen used to visit it especially in the weekends. With the proclamation of independence of Moldova a dark time ensued for the whole country and this lake was no exception: complete degradation of all surrounding facilities, muddy water, the former beach is now dirt place and so on...
