Built in 1902 the Cathedral is the Seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Suva, which covers the whole of Fiji.
Based on the churches in Rome, the Cathedral has stained glass windows and a crypt in the basement but no one is buried there. A unique feature not found in European churches are the fans hanging from the arches.
