One of the oldest and major railway station on the harbour lane of Mumbai. Most of the crowd load gets on and gets off at this station. This station serves to the people of Deonar Colony, Shivaji Nagar, Baigan Wadi, Deonar Village,Ghatala goan,upto lakme company compund on east side.
Congested and dirty but same is the condition of all the station of harbur lane excluding New Mumbai stations.
Once you come out on western side you can get share autos for RS 5 to go upto Shivaji Nagar get down in middle at Deonar colony fare is same. Also BEST undertaking buses like 375, 376 ,380 etc are also there. On the eastern side you will not get share autos.But there is a bus depot from were you can catch bus to Mahul, chembur and even VT.
Ankur is the oldest movie theatre next to the station on the eastern side.
Also on the west side is Deonar slaughter house. Get down from any end of the platform and you can reach the deonar slaughter house gate. Specially from VT end of the platform the lane opens up in front of deonar slaughter house gate
