Batac Riverside Empanadaan (Batac City)

Philippines / Ilocos / Batac / Batac City
 store / shop, restaurant

There are plenty of stalls selling “empanada” in this locacation. Empanada is made of a savory filling of grated papaya, mongo, chopped Ilocano longganisa and egg. The dough that serves as its thin and crisp wrapper is made of rice flour. The BATAC EMPANADA is deep-fried rather than baked.

The Batac City created Empanada Festival to commemorate their declaration as a city which they feature the empanada as the highlight of the event and to promote the BATAC EMPANADA as the DTI approved “One-Town-One Product” of the City of BATAC.
