It is said that Capertee Valley is the 2nd largest canyon in the world. Certainly it would be close! Great scenic beauty, with a great deal of wonder. 'Pantoneys Crown' a butte prominent throughout the valley is also said to be the 5th largest monolith in the world. The area is justly world famous for bird watching and is the best place to see the rare Regent Honeyeater.
The towns of Glen Davis, Torbane and Glen ALice were all involved in the mining of shale. The remains of a refinery can be found at Glen Davis. This is a must visit place.
