Where such classics as Gunsmoke, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, My Three Sons, Gilligan's Island, The Bob Newhart Show and Seinfeld were shot... as well as new classics like Malcolm in the Middle, That 70's Show, and Big Brother.

Originally built as Mack Sennett's second studio. During the depression, Sennett went bankrupt. In receivership, the studio was leased by Nat Levine's Mascot Pictures. In 1936 Mascot merged with Monogram Pictures, Consolidated film Industries, and several other small production companies to form Republic Pictures, which which became a major studio specializing in low budget "B" movies until the mid 1950s.

Mascot/Republic was the studio that made stars out of John Wayne, Gene Autrey, and Roy Rogers.

When Republic ceased oeration in 1958, CBS leased the lot and finally bought it from Republic in 1967 and renamed CBS Studio Center.

In 1970 MTM (Mary Tyler Moore) became the primary tenant where the show and its spinoffs were produced. In 1982 CBS sold s share in the lot to Fox and the name changed to CBS/Fox Studios. Shortly after that Fox sold its interest to MTM, and another name change took place: CBS-MTM Studios Then, in another hail of confusion, Fox bought MTM and sold the MTM share back to CBS, and it was, once again renamed CBS Studio Center, a name that has stuck since.

KCBS and KCAL television Stations move from Hollywood to a new media building on the lot. It is also one of Hollywood's primary center for the production of Sitcoms.

Today the studio is known as Radford Studio Center and is owned by Hackman Capital Partners, who own several other studio properties, including Television City and Raleigh Studios in Hollywood, The Culver Studios in Culver City, and MBS Studios in Manhattan Beach. They have emerged as the major player in studio rentals worldwide.
