  • Can some one please explain what is meant by "The Chicken Run" and the association with the Hammers at Upton Park?
  • According to Wikipedia article, this is the origin of 'chicken run' associated with the East Stand in Upton Park: "Chicken Run' was an old wooden stand (standing room only) on the east side of the pitch. It was surrounded by a similar sort of wire to that used on chicken runs and when you viewed it from the opposite side of the ground it looked just like a chicken run. It was knocked down and rebuilt in 1968".
