Rock Garden (Chandigarh Tricity)


Extended garden of mosaic-covered folk-art sculptures created illegally from debris by a visionary road inspector who, by night, doubled as sculptor and artist. When discovered by the authorities, his clandestine constructions were lauded (rather than demolished) and he was given an official salary and a workforce to finish the project which is now a prime tourist attraction.
