The neighborhood of Padre Miguel is situated in the west region of the city of Rio de Janeiro, is of lower class, and borders the neighborhoods of Bangu (west) and Realengo (east). It is there the schools of samba Mocidade Independente de Padre Miguel and Unidos de Padre Miguel are located. In the weekend, another attraction is the Ponto Chic, bohemian stronghold of the neighborhood. In Padre Miguel is placed the Simonsen College and Castelo Branco University, two private colleges of West Zone. In Padre Miguel have many famous privates schools, likes Adventist School of Padre Miguel, Prioridade Hum and Simonsen High School.
