Kealing Middle is a middle school located in East Austin. The middle school has two programs, the magnet program (providing materials exceeding state-curriculum) and the Success Through Academics and Responsibility program (STAR; previously known as CAP). The magnet program selects students from the Austin area through school applications, while the STAR program accepts all neighborhood area students.

Beginning in the 2012-2013 school year, Kealing was subject to "Stage 1, year 1" school requirements under the No Child Left Behind Act after it had failed to meet the Adequate Yearly Progress (AVP). Students in the then CAP program or magnet program were given an option to switch to Murchinson Middle School, O. Henry, or stay in Kealing.

The current principal for Kealing is Robin Lowe, who stepped in as head principal after Michael T. Perkins stepped out due to personal matters late in the 2011-12 school year.
