  • Kulti is a peacefull town
  • Kulti used to be a very beautiful place, but now due to lack of maintainence and some callousness of certain people it is losing its natural beauty.
  • I am now living in Kolkata but I can never forget my stay in Kulti whereI stayed for 8 long years. I have stayed in various cities of India but after staying in other cities and towns only then you can appreciate what a beautiful place it is to stay. Not only is it an oasis of Peace but the people there are very nice amd helpful.I didnt find any small mindedness you associate with small town people.Yes it was in a state of slow decay after Kulti factory closed down in 2003 but now that the factory is reopening ,I am sure the old glory of Kulti will surely come back.I dont know what dirty comments were passed about Kulti but I can only say I feel privileged to have got the opportunity to stay in Kulti, the first Steel town of India and in order to appreciate what a great place it is,you need to stay at other places tooto know the difference.

  • When I was a student of +2 in the year 1976-1978 at Itachuna College, WB, my senior was MILAN CHAKRABORTY from East Town Babupara, Kulti. He was then a student of B.Sc . His father was an employee of IISCO. Since 1978 we did not have any chance to meet each other. I ll be really grateful if anybody can give me any information about Milan Da.
  • I lived in Kulti between 2000 and 2004. Stayed in the GM bungalow- what an amazing bungalow that was, overlooking the beautiful golf course. The parties at Kulti club were awesome. After the initial happy moments in the amazing town of Kulti, I sadly saw it decline rapidly, leading to closure of the plant. Hope Kulti sees better days in the future.
  • My family lived in Kulti from 1966 to 1971. My father was R.R.Dunn and he was the Chief Engineer at IISCO Kulti. Sam Wilson was the Works Manager. I went to school in Darjeeling until 1968 and then lived in Kulti until we all left in 1971, Kulti Club ran two English movies on Saturday and Sunday evenings. The Golf Club was well used until we left. The Masonic Lodge is between our house and the Club. Bagirath Rai taught me to drive. Our car was an Ambassador WGJ6624. I spent most of my time with Patricia Stanton who is now in Cleveland Ohio. Fiona Vaughan lives in Ipswich, Suffolk, UK. Ask as you wish.
