Daedundo has an area of ​​3.34 ㎢ with a population 531 people (2001).

More than half of the population is engaged in fishing with good fishing grounds rich in various fish like eel, anchovy, mackerel, sea bass, rockfish, oysters, and abalone. Crops include barley, sweet potatoes, potatoes, beans, and garlic.

Regular ferry from Mokpo runs once a day. Daedundo is an archipelago island, designated as a National Marine Park.
