The monastery was built one St. Trinity hill, which was famous as murder site of 3 Vilnius ortodox martyrs - Anthony, John, Eustathios. The monastery and church building ensemble was began to establish from 1514. Uniate Basilian monks settled here in 1607, women basilians settled in 1610. Vilnius Basilian Monastery became the centre of Uniate Church of Lithuania. In 1821 basilians were banished. The monastery building was turned into jail for inprisonment of Vilnius university students, Filaret organisation memebers. Famous poet Adam Mickiewicz was imprisoned here before banishment to Russia (that room now is called Konrad Room). In 1869 building were used by ortidix seminary and were reconstructed. Currently basilian monks live in some monastery rooms. They created Vilnius St. Trinity residence, part of Ukrainian Basilian Province. The biggest part of monastery is used by ISM university and hotel.
