Gate Keeper's Cottage

This is a fine example of a typical Gate Keeper's Cottage - modest & 'narrow', alongside the trackbed (in this case, the S & D).

It is also close to the Corfe Mullen Junction - which the S & D built in 1884/5 to provide a more direct route to connect with the L & S W Railway at Broadstone, rather than via Wimborne, (as this earlier scheme had entailed reversing at Wimborne).
