White Tower (Braşov)

The tower was built between 1460-1494 and was intended for defense guilds Tanners brazier. White Tower is located on a cliff top of the hill Warthe (Straja) at 59 meters away from the walls and communicate with it by a bridge that connects the Graft Bastion. The tower has a height of 18-20 meters and closed semicircular, being equipped with battlements, openings for pitch and balconies supported by brackets carved in stone. Supply and access to the interior were provided by a ladder. Initially, the White Tower was entrusted to the maintenance and defense masters tin brazier and in 1678, it remains only care brazier. Severely damaged by fire in 1689, it was renovated in 1725. In 1902 there were more affectionate some maintenance work, and in 2003-2005 the tower is again restored, assuming current appearance.
