History:

Many tales have been inverted and narrated as to how Barangay Ilocanos Norte got its name. One of this states that it got its name “ILOCANOS” because most of the inhabitants from the Ilocos Province. The sea and its vast marine resources attracted these people to migrate on the area.

In 1912, because of the already increasing population, the government undertook a step and this was the passing of a Municipal resolution. It stated that the entire strip of land be divided into two (2) barrios namely Barrio Ilocanos Norte and Ilocanos Sur.
