Lake Manguao is probably the least disturbed lake in the Philippines. It is located 10°46'N, 119°33'E; 7 km southeast of Taytay, northern Palawan Island, Palawan Province. It has an estimated area of 643 hectares with mean altitude of about 25 meters above sea level. The lake is fed from several small rivers and local run-off. It is home to at least 3 endemic species of fishes and numerous species of birds making it an important bird area. The estuarine crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) is still believed to occur at the lake.
