The GECO spur line which used to service numerous industries in the nearby Golden Mile Industrial area. GECO, short for General Engineering Company of Ontario, was a munitions provider that first built industrial buildings in this area starting in 1941, at that time far from the city. In the post-war era the Golden Mile was expanded as Canada's first industrial park.
