Operational by 1957, the Kalakaket Creek White Alice Communications System (WACS) site, Callsign KKK, was a tropospheric communications and relay station in the United States Air Force telecommunication network. Linking WACS sites at Tatalina to the South, North River to the West and Bear Creek to the East via 106, 117 and 155 mile shots respectively, the site also hosted a TD-2 microwave repeater was later installed which linked it directly to the Campion Air Force Station to the North.

Operational into the 1970's in it's White Alice role, the site was idled from the WACS system but continued to support microwave communications into the 1990's before being largely abandoned following the end of the Cold War. The site was environmentally remediated and all of its infrastructure removed or landfilled in the early 2000's.
