In an apocryphal story that still makes the rounds at UGA, Jake Scott, safety on the 1968 SEC Champion football team, rode his motorcycle up & over the arches which form part of the curved roof on this building. Special railings were put into place by the university to prevent such a feat from being repeated. Mr. Scott went on to a distinguished pro career, including playing on the undefeated Miami Dolphins team of 1970.
