  • Was the london town house of the Earls of Ellesmere.The Bridgewater Art Collection established by the 3rd and Last Duke of Bridgewater was housed here untill 1940.A Gallery was opened for visitors to see the paintings which predated the establishment of the National Gallery.The 5th.Earl of Ellesmere succeeded in 1944 and sold Bridgewater House for £250.000 to I.C.I.As their London Headquarters in 1949 to settle death duties.The House was used as the London Town House of the Marchmont family of Bridehead Revisited TV series.
