Igpalge is an inland village or barangay of the Municipality of Anini-y, Antique Province. Igpalge is derived from the name of a rock resembling a resin called pili, which the people mined and used as fuel for their lamps before kerosene lamps and the use of electricity in the village. There is an unpaved 1.5 km feeder road that links it to Casay Viejo.It has a public elementary school (Igpalge Elementary School) and a national high school(Igpalge National High School). Its patron saint is the Holy Child Jesus or the Santo Niño whose feast is celebrated every January 15. Among its known sons were the late Eulogio Mandigal Almeria, then a member of the municipal council of Anini-y, and the late Aniceto Almeria Sombilon, who worked for the establishment of a public high school in the village with the cooperation of the residents and officials of the government; he was the high school principal in Igpalge when he died. Its present village chief or Punong Barangay is Pascual Mandariaga Diana, succeeding Eduardo Abiera Diana, a first cousin. These local leaders trace their roots to the late Vicente Almeria, father of Eulogio. The brothers of Vicente and their descendants serve also as local leaders in their own capacities up to the present.
