St. Anthony Park is tucked into the northwest corner of St. Paul bounded on the north by Larpenteur Avenue, on the west by Highway 280, on the south by I-94, and on the east by the St. Paul Campus of the University of Minnesota and the Minnesota State Fair Grounds.

Note: SAP is generally divided into North and South, with Energy Park Drive and the BNSF tracks as the divider. North has a more gentrified sense, while South tends to be more eclectic/diverse. North SAP generally feels like a dneser and more urban extension of the inner suburbs it borders (Falcoln Heights, Roseville, and Lauderdale) while South SAP gravitates toward University Avenue and is much more similar to the Hamline-Miday neighborhood to the east.
