Frogtown (adapted from the German 'Froschburg') is the common name for the Thomas-Dale Neighborhood, although the Frogtown name originally referred to only a part of the current neighborhood. It was developed from the 1860s to the 1880s as Saint Paul expanded, and became a working-class neighborhood settled by German, Polish, Scandinavian and Irish immigrants. Today, the neighborhood is still home to many immigrants but the immigrants today come from Southeast Asia and Latin America. Saint Paul's Hmong community lives here, and in the Summit-University Neighborhood.
