Umbará is a neighbourhood belonging to the south region of the Brazilian city of Curitiba, Paraná. Its population is about 14,595 inhabitants. Its history is connected to the brickworks and the manufacturing of barrels of Paraguay tea, actually, concentrates the activity of extration of sand for the building construction.
The name Umbará came out in consequence of the region's soil clay formation which, at rain times, it did form lots of clay through the ways: "um bará", it's meaning, just clay, according to their people's oral tradition.
