Hengistbury Head (Bournemouth)

This monument is scheduled under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Areas Act 1979
This imposing landmark overlooking Christchurch harbour was once a fortified Iron Age trading centre, and evidence of its fortification remains even now. However, 'The Head' is perhaps best known as a beauty spot and nature reserve these days.
