Hauer (or Vila Hauer, for historical reasons) is a neighborhood of the Brazilian city of Curitiba (capital of Paraná) located in the region southeast of the city and neighboring districts of Guabirotuba, Prado Velho, Parolin, Fanny, Xaxim, Boqueirão and Uberaba. The name is a tribute to Joseph Hauer, a German immigrant who was the owner of a large ranch that dominated almost the entire region which is the districts Hauer, Fanny and Lindóia. In the past, the region was a town, known as Town Hauer (Vila Hauer).
