Takaragawa Onsen

This very popular onsen (hot springs) has, according to the Lonely Planet guide, been rated as one of the best onsens in Japan. There are several hot springs just to the south of the main buildings, right alongside the river on either side (the foliage in this sat photo obscures all but the edge of one on the right bank). It is very picturesque. The associated ryokan (traditional Japanese hotel) is Osenkaku.
