The Basketball Arena was located at the Olympic park in Stratford in the London Borough of Newham. It hosted the basketball preliminaries and handball semi-finals and final during the 2012 Summer Olympics and wheelchair basketball preliminaries and wheelchair rugby during the 2012 Summer Paralympics. The arena had 12,000 seats during the Olympics and 10,000 seats during the Paralympics. It was constructed from 2010 to 2011 at a cost of £42,000,000. The basketball Arena wasbe a temporary venue, and was disassembled following the Games.
