The M/V Castor is a 258 feet long Shelterdeck Coaster originally designed as a timber cargo transport vessel which was finished in 1970 in the Netherlands. She transported goods in the seas of Europe until 1999. Then she continued her services between the United States, Mexico, Colombia and Aruba, until she finally got caught for heroine smuggling. US Customs searched the ship and found over ten thousands pounds of cocaine hidden in containers full of sugar.
The ship then became a derelict along the Miami River and was seized for debts accrued by the former ship's owner. She was sunk on December 14, 2001 in 110 feet of water. Castor is 258' long w/ 36' beam. Sunk in 2001 and oriented North South.
